Apple Team Volunteers to Help Fight Hunger

Community Food Connection Welcomes Apple Team

This June, we were thrilled to host an enthusiastic team from Apple in Rancho Bernardo who came to lend a hand at the Community Food Connection. Their energy and dedication made a significant impact on our operations, and we are immensely grateful for their support.

The day began with the Apple team helping us unload the Big Truck, filled with essential food supplies from our partners at the San Diego Food Bank as part of the Emergency Food Assistance Program (EFAP). This vital program provides a steady stream of nutritious food, ensuring that we can meet the needs of our community. EFAP focuses on delivering a variety of food items, including staples like canned goods, rice, beans, and meat, to food banks and pantries across the region.

With the truck unloaded, the Apple volunteers quickly got to work packaging the food. Together, we organized cans, rice and beans, and prepared meat packages, all set for distribution to families in Poway and the surrounding areas. Their teamwork and efficiency were truly impressive, and their efforts will help ensure that hundreds of local families have access to nutritious meals in the coming weeks.

A huge thank you to the Apple employees for volunteering their time and energy. Your commitment to giving back to the community exemplifies the spirit of solidarity and compassion that makes our work possible. We are grateful for your support and look forward to future collaborations.

At Community Food Connection, we rely on the generosity and hard work of volunteers to continue our mission of fighting hunger and fostering a healthier community. If you or your organization would like to get involved, please reach out to us. Together, we can make a difference!
