CFC Receives $5,000 Grant from SDG&E

We are excited to share that we have been awarded a $5,000 grant from San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) through our partnership with Feeding San Diego. This generous grant will be instrumental in enhancing our capacity to serve the community, and we are deeply grateful for this support.

The funds from this grant will be used to purchase a new industrial freezer and additional storage cabinets, both of which are crucial for our ongoing efforts in the Emergency Food Assistance Program (EFAP). EFAP is designed to provide a consistent supply of nutritious food to families in need, ensuring food security for our community. Through EFAP, we receive essential food items such as canned goods, rice, beans, and meat, which we then distribute to those in need.

Having a new industrial freezer will significantly improve our food storage capabilities. Proper freezing is essential for maintaining the safety and quality of perishable food items, particularly meat and other protein sources. By expanding our freezer capacity, we can store larger quantities of food safely, reducing waste and ensuring that we have a steady supply of nutritious options available for distribution.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to SDG&E for this generous grant and to Feeding San Diego for their continued partnership and support. Your contributions are making a real difference in the lives of many families in Poway and the surrounding areas.

At Community Food Connection, we are committed to fighting hunger and promoting food security. This grant brings us one step closer to our goal of ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry. If you would like to support our mission or get involved, please reach out to us. Together, we can create a stronger, healthier community.

Thank you once again to SDG&E and Feeding San Diego for your incredible support. We are excited to put these funds to work and continue making a positive impact in our community.
